Nature’s paint brush

October 31, 2005

This morning I turned my walk into a stroll, camera in hand, enjoying the annual splash of color along the route. Here are some of the scenes that caught my eye. Let’s start with our neighbor’s front yard,

then turning west on Maine Street toward St. Peter’s,

and down the brick sidewalk along Madison Park,

jogging south and taking a look down York Street,

heading south on tree-lined 22nd Street,

and finally paying homage to the fire bush at 22nd and Aldo on the way back.

Nice photographic record of a walk, Dad! My two favorites are the sycamore (?) leaf on the brick sidewalk and the Payson Road inlaid sidewalk sign. Of course, I’m a close-view kind of guy!

BTW the message you sent to my new Adams e-mail account was the very first I’ve received from a person. My old account will remain active but I’ll check it less often as time goes by.

Thanks for your comment, Larry, and you’re very welcome, oblivious.

My close-view pics are limited by my bodily hinge mechanisms and general sloth. Actually, today would also have been good for a photo walk, looking down instead of up. We are having a light rain with overcast sky which gives colors a special sheen.

Gorgeous Fall photos, Dad! I just happened to have just finished perusing some professional gallery photos on webshots.com (my favorite screensaver program), but I have to say your autumn walk rivals them! Thanks for the pleasant walk through Quincy.

Got something to say?
