Reflections on growing old

July 6, 2006

Thanks to Michael Kruse for passing this on, although he is still too young to really get it. Maybe, like Satch Paige, he “is afraid to look back, because something may be gaining on me.”

Anyway, check out one Ben Witherington’s reflections.

‘Lord grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference.’

Dave, beginning to get it.

I like the new take on the senility er serenity prayer. I guess it’ll get more poignant as I get older, eh? Just testing posting a comment. I like the new tinkers - the water theme and Orlop showed in the lower right hand corner as expected. I did notice the photos on Pride of Baltimore link on the shipyard page didn’t work - but all the others worked great.

Thanks for checking on things for me. When I went to the Pride page, only the last 2 images didn’t appear. I’ll check that out. There’s a reason.

    Dad

P.S. As soon as I think this ‘binary blue’ theme is performing OK, I plan to install another couple ot themes that look good to me. I am able to switch back and forth between themes at will without losing any content. More fun.

Got something to say?
