Rushing the season
We are 20 official days into spring, and where is the spring color we deserve after a long, cold winter? What we are getting around here is still a dreary leafless treescape with just a hint of spring. A few Azaleas in protected places are getting with the program.
Pride of place in the neighborhood is this Star Magnolia. It has already resisted a couple of freezes since it decided to bloom. Peonies are shooting up in the foreground.
Even the early Daffodils seem to be shivering in the cold wind.
This lonesome yellow Tulip is all that is showing in this bed.
