Blogging blahs

2

It must be catching. I have impatiently awaited the return of Riverside Rambles, son Larry’s slightly off-beat but always interesting blog. He stayed away for a month or so, and a couple of his regular followers constructed sort of a secondary blog, once removed, using a comment thread to his last post. Interesting.

Well, Larry’s back, and it dawned on me that my last post was dated July 25, almost 3 weeks ago. What does one do when one wants to keep the words moving and one’s mind is exhibiting more than its usual blankness? Unfortunately, what you have read so far (thanks) rather answers the question.

As usual there are a lot of interesting things deserving comment in these dog days of summer. Our energetic but still wet behind the years President is making us pay the price of his learning to deal with the institution of the Presidency. (It’s not about you, Mr. President. Whether we love you or not is not as important as providing a sense of direction.)

The apparent lack of economic leadership in Government is another topic deserving some on-line regurgitation. Are we sowing the seeds for a killer inflation for the next generation?

El HombreAs always the really important matter during the month of August is the major league baseball pennant races. All the big, head-hurting, issues can jolly well wait until October. At this moment, our beloved Cards are leading National League Central and all is well with the world (as long as the air conditioning doesn’t fail).

Dave, still unable to snap out of it.

Yeah, I’m back, posting once again at Riverside Rambles. I do have some loyal readers, some of whom berated me via e-mail for my long silence. I’m grateful for their patience, and yours!
